Gay Beaches+Discos



Salerno is a sunny hystorical sea town, in the middle of a huge Gulf laying from the North (Amalfi Coast, with Positano, Capri, Ischia and Amalfi… and many amazing little villages) with its Arab cathedrals and, to south, with its greek temples of Paestum, and the Cilento coast. This Coast hosts a sea and many thermal waters (like Contursi), that has nothing to envy to the freshest Aegeum sea of the Greek islands and coasts, with the same history (Magna Graecia).

Its latest administration has opened its attention to the GLBT rights with the recent “Salerno CampaniaPride”: the whole region – included the most “open” and free Naples – met in Salerno to celebrate the regional pride on the 26^th of May 2012. An hystorical date for this small great city which has a lot of natural, cultural, hystorical… and masculine beauties!

1. SPIAGGIA DI LUCULLO. Worths the weekend on the gay beach “Lucullo’s”, in Marina di Eboli – Località: Spineta (free beach between the private “straight” strand beaches “Lido B38” and “Arenella Beach”) – south coast “Litoranea”. Bars, discos, clubs, beach resorts in the neighbours are full of gay people (mainly “covered” in the private beach strands, mostly “out” in the pinewood and on the adjacent free beach “Lucullo’s”). The pinewood upon the gay area, which it’s crowded with young (and old) boys, very handly and free for action. Black or mixed men are friendly and horny. Beware from bringing money or telephones in the pinewood. ATYR. You can meet strange characters, and athetic boys, and action is easy in the infinity of pretty clean dens and bushes of the area.

2. SPIAGGIA "IL TRONCONE". Salerno gay life seems to have a particular beachy vocation. Indeed, following the "A3" motorway Salerno-Reggio Calabria, taking the exit "Battipaglia" and riding south to Agropoli, you can follow the long "SS18" (statal road #18) which brings you until "Marina di Camerota" (south to the best known mythical and mythological village of "Palinuro"). At the crossroad to Palinuro, turn left to Marina di Camerota direction. After two galleries you will find "Il Troncone" beach, right after the private beach strand "I Trettrè". Go to the bottom of the beach (nudism allowed). The rocks are very hospitable for romantic breaks. The water is amazing.

DISCOTECHE. “The Fireworks” http://www.fireworksalerno.it/ is the animation group of the open and free, handly and fashion Salerno’s gaylife. Their initiatives are published on the website and based on disco nights and amazing drag shows, with an elegant and open, English speaking crowd dancing and drinking (moderately, as in the Italian style, which chooses quality of drinking, upon quantity). You can find a new Italian friend, someone to drink with and hopefully, to spend the rest of the night. Salerno’s boys are very welcoming and accommodating, You can borrow a shaperon for the morning after, on the longsea or in the Hystorical center – downtown, or for a shopping on “Il Corso”, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, or on one of the amazing coasts where to swim in summertime.
